How to Play
How to Play Flute
Hold the flute out to the right of your mouth and grasp gently with your fingertips. With your left hand facing toward you hold the top three holes. Then, with the right hand facing away from you, hold the bottom three holes. Next place the flute into that nice curve under your bottom lip. Now feeling with your bottom lip, feel for the edge of the blowhole. Once you have found this, blow as if you are spitting watermelon seeds at a contest, across the far edge of the hole. Roll the flute in and out slightly until you get just the *RIGHT ANGLE* across the far edge of the hole. This is what it is *ALL* about. Once you get that, the rest is all just a matter of figuring out the right fingers to put down. For that we send you to our good friends at www.tinwhistler.com. As it is, the flutes we make are tuned the same as the traditional Irish flute/pennywhistle. If you learn one, you can play the other. Simply click onto his site and see the vast educational material he has to offer you for free... and oh yes!...Just turn the pennywhistle fingerings to the side and you will have the flute fingerings. Have fun!
How to Play Ocarina
Simply blow gently into the slot on the edge. All the sound comes out through the square hole on the bottom. There are four holes on top, and one or two on the bottom depending on your 4, 5 or 6-hole purchase. Simply click on your favorite song and follow the bouncing holes. If the holes are colored in, the corresponding holes are closed on the ocarina, flute and so forth. Within 20 to 30 minutes, you are playing your favorite selections. It's really that simple!
